About VRK

All-Ukrainian Advertising Coalition (VRK) is the key association in the advertising and communications market in Ukraine. It brings together the leading players of the market (more than 130 companies), including creative, marketing, PR agencies, media companies, and advertisers. 

VRK mission: Development of the advertising market in Ukraine

For 25 years in the Ukrainian market, VRK has been initiating and supporting various activities that contribute to the development of the industry, solving its pressing problems and challenges faced by the members of the country's advertising community. The coalition, as an influential "voice" of the industry, promotes the VRK members`` values and cooperates with most players of the advertising and communication market.

The coalition - VRK is an organizer of key international and national advertising contests and events in Ukraine such as Effie Awards Ukraine, Ukrainian Creative Stories, Kyiv International Advertising Festival (KIAF), ADC*Ukraine Awards, Best Marketing Practices, The Night of Ad Eaters, etc.

VRK is the local representative of several international contests such as Epica, ADC*E, Golden Drum, Gerety Awards, etc. 

VRK is a member of the European Association of Communications Agencies. 

 

Key VRK Activities

  • Presentation of the advertising market of Ukraine

  • VRK in cooperation with specialized industry associations, research companies and the largest players in the advertising and communication market, conducts research and publishes data that helps to understand who is who in the advertising market and what is happening in the industry as a whole. 

    In addition, VRK constantly interacts with Ukrainian and foreign advertising associations and mass media

  • Professional education and development. Contests

  • For more than 20 years, VRK has held and supported various national and international advertising festivals and contests, initiated conferences, round tables and educational projects to increase the professionalism of the industry and exchange international experience. 

  • Protection of industry interests

  • VRK actively participates in both the improvement of advertising legislation and the development of the advertising self-regulation system, as well as in representing and protecting the interests of Coalition members, advising on the compliance of advertising materials with legislative norms, etc.

  • Popularization of VRK members

  • VRK disseminates industry-relevant news from members of the Coalition on official resources: websites and social networks of VRK and Coalition projects; invites VRK members to be speakers at conferences and juries of contests/festivals both in Ukraine and abroad; publishes author's materials of VRK members on the leading advertising and marketing media Sostav.ua

  • Social mission

  • VRK promotes the development of the social mission of advertising in order to draw society's attention to social problems and universal human values. 

    Thus, VRK created the Social Advertising Exchange project, the task of which is to raise the professional level of social advertising in Ukraine. Positive Change categories for social responsibility campaigns were introduced into the contest programs of KIAF and Effie Awards Ukraine. Special prizes for social responsibility topics are also created as part of these festivals. To implement the values of sustainable development, VRK initiated round tables, workshops and discussions within the framework of the Best Marketing Practices conference.

     

    VRK projects:

    Effie Awards Ukraine is known by advertisers and agencies in Ukraine as the preeminent award in the industry. Effie is an international program that was launched in 1968 in the USA. For over 50 years, winning an Effie has become a global symbol of achievement. In 2005 VRK received the exclusive right to carry out Effie in Ukraine.

    Ukrainian Creative Stories is the platform that unites the largest creative festivals in Ukraine. The main goal is to highlight the talents of the Ukrainian creative industry, celebrate the brightest names and award the best works. The contest part of the project unites professional advertising festivals: 

  • Kyiv International Festival of Advertising is the most prestigious and main advertising festival of Ukraine, held annually since 2000
  • ADC*UA Awards is the national creative contest of Art Directors Club of Ukraine, founded in 2010.
  • Ukrainian Design The Very Best Of is the national design contest, founded in 2012.

  • Annual rankings of the advertising industry of Ukraine:  

  • volumes of the advertising market
  • rankings of the creativity of communication and media agencies, groups, production companies
  • rankings of the effectiveness of communications and media agencies, communications holding companies, and as well names of the most effective marketers and brands of Ukraine.

  • Best Marketing Teams is the ranking of the best marketing teams in Ukraine. The ranking presents advertisers in terms of categories/industries in which companies operate (for example, agricultural, alcohol beverages, finance, telecom, pharma, etc.).

    Best Marketing Practices is the top educational event in Ukraine among advertisers and agencies. The conference consists of case-finalists of the Effie Awards Ukraine contest, which determines the most effective campaigns in the country's advertising and communications market. Marketers and agencies share their experience of creating and implementing their effective cases, non-standard solutions, cardinally bold steps, and the reasons for their success.

    Unpacking Ads is the VRK YouTube channel. The platform brought together the news of the communication industry of Ukraine, interviews and thoughts of experts in the advertising market, and updates on VRK projects.

    CrUAtivity – a monthly digest of news of advertising creativity in Ukraine by All-Ukrainian Advertising Coalition. The purpose of the monthly reviews from VRK is to show what Ukrainian creatives are doing, how they work in difficult conditions and what actual topics are reflected in advertising creativity today.

    VRK at the war

    Since the beginning of the war the main focus of VRK activities has been on communication with state authorities, professional audiences, including specialized media, partners and specialized organizations in Ukraine and abroad, regarding attracting support for the advertising industry, creating opportunities for the work of advertising agencies and Ukrainian specialists

    It has already been done:

  • An open letter of the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian Parliament) Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy with a call to foreign and domestic companies to support the Ukrainian advertising industry by conducting social and informational campaigns to support Ukraine and counter Russian aggression both in Ukraine and abroad.

  • An open letter to advertisers from VRK calling on all advertisers to close their debts to advertising agencies and fulfill their obligations under postpaid contracts

  • Manifesto from representatives of the Ukrainian media market with a call to colleagues from all over the world for support and opportunities for help from the world media.

  • VRK joined the signing of the Memorandum concluded between business associations CEO Club Ukraine, Board Business Community, Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine, for the modernization of Ukraine, agreement and promotion of key principles of post-war economic policy.

  • AdAid.eu platform for Ukrainian specialists to find work abroad.

  • Ukrainian Creative Stories 2022 with the involvement of the international advertising community to support Ukrainian agencies.

  • Cooperation with the international advertising community to support Ukraine.

  • Implemented or supported various research and important initiatives using international and Ukrainian resources and contacts of VRK.

  • The results of the Advertising Industry Pulse research is a unique report of the Ukrainian advertising market nowadays. Such surveys will be quarterly.

    Members of the All-Ukrainian advertising coalition (VRK) comprise advertising companies that have various specialties, active industry players.

    We surveyed VRK members about their state of affairs, how they are doing, to find out what`s going on with advertising agencies and advertising market in the sixth month of the war in Ukraine.

    Research «Advertising Industry Pulse» is a unique report of Ukrainian advertising market in conditions of war, as of July 2022.
